Most kitchen counters and bar counters for many years stood with the height of 40 inches which has become the standard. But nowadays, it has changed and the height was increased with 6 more inches in measurement.

The recent change became the concern of many bar owners and home buyers, and finding taller bar stools became their priority to go well with the counters. There goes a 34-inch bar stool. This became the solution to the dilemma of having higher counters.

If you want to stick with 30 inch bar stools, you can do so but this will make a great distance between the bar or kitchen counter and the seat, making you strain more while leaning over, drinking or eating your meals instead of being more relaxed.

Have you experience eating and drinking in restaurants or bars and the chair or stool you are sitting is not in the correct size to fit with the counter or table top? I have seen quite a lot of this happening in various business establishments that have several seating spots like booth and seating areas. As you sit on the chair or bar stool, you get so uncomfortable because the tables is almost right through your face.

The ideal combination is a bar stool with the height of 34 inches and a counter of 45 inches. The stools are in an appropriate distance from the bar counter making eating and drinking more comfortable and convenient. 34-inch bar stools are also ideal for people who are very tall to prevent their legs from bending uncomfortably.

Standard bar stools with the height of 30 inches from the ground are great options for people who have regular heights but they are not suitable for taller people who need more height for their furniture. It all basically depends on the person’s height so keep these things in mid when finding a bar stool for your space.
